Something to pamper yourself with …

Would you like to make your life a bit more comfortable? Start saving now. Here are a couple of good old things re-invented, both coming from Finland.

FIRST   What about a small cottage, which you can use year round, in all kind of weather (yes, it can be heated), and see the environment around you, even the sky and stars (if it is dark enough)?

That is Olokolo – a free translation: “a hole for being”.  (Their website is in Finnish, but you can surely get the idea of the ‘thing’ by having a look at their photo gallery.)

THEN   Though it is luxury today to be in silence, you might like to enjoy your favorite music with quality, style and mobility.

This is what Unmonday promises. Their ceramic wireless mobile loudspeaker concept is something new in the market: you can use the same unit in several ways, from mono to five speakers’ surround system. The company is currently using Kickstarter to get financing for the development and production. Show your style and make a pre-order.

FINALLY  These two companies share someting in common: innovative design, mobility, idea of freedom, uncompromising quality and individualism. That is not coming cheaply: you need to have some extra cash (Olokolo cottage ~15.000 US$, Unmonday surround  system ~2.500 US$), but that is secondary, if you are looking something special for your body and soul.

Could these two companies, which are in the forefront of Finnish innovation and design, do something together? A joint marketing campaign? A package deal?

About Olli Laasanen
