Great feeling in We Jazz 2013 opening concert in Helsinki

We Jazz 2013, the newest week long jazz happening in Helsinki, Finland was launched this week’s Monday with a great concert in Alexander Theatre. – Enjoy the picture cavalcade.

Opening by the maestro of We Jazz, Matti Nives.

M.A. Numminen performed a jazz poem with a strong link to Beat Generation.

Mikko Innanen (sax & all kind of pipes) and Andrew Cyrille (dr) gave us a show of free improvisation.

Jukka Eskola Orquesta Bossa tuned us to the moods of Latin jazz.

The night was completed with the beautiful music of the highly skilled Swiss trio VEIN Michael Arbenz, p, Thomas Lähns, b and Florian Arbenz, dr) with Greg Osby in sax. (Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the trio, only Osby.)

About Olli Laasanen

Eyes and ears open. New and old. Jobs and hobbies. Pictures and music. Entertaining and serious. Change and stability. Nature and urban.
