Clouds and lens flare

Two days ago, Midsummer eve, we had some sunshine in southern Finland (it has been quite cold and rainy during the last days). This is a combination of  two sets of three image HDR images (-2,0,+2) of the clouds – and lens flare.

Colors are over-saturated. The rays of the sun are unrealistic (due to small aperture f/22). The contrast in the clouds are exaggerated. The clouds in the lower part of the image are not aligned corretly

But that was the feeling.

  1. Beautiful image – I love the lighting and contrast. Nice HDR work without going to far in the post processing.

Yet the trees seem to be aligned OK. Is it a plantation? What sort of trees are they and what will they be used for? I’m pleased you are at last getting some summer weather! Is the crop in the field mustard? I recall seeing vast fields of yellow mustard flowers grown for seed in Sweden a few years ago. The photograph reminds me of enhanced images of space…galaxies and so on. A little frightening, as I guess it is, the clouds/weather having such power of life and death for all life.

Olli, super well done! Thank you! Fabio

  4. Lovely image. Goes to prove that it’s all right to be all wrong…
