Berlin Photo Diary 2014 – About new architecture

Two different views to the new architecture in Berlin.

The first is a site of new buildings of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) on the northern side of river Spree, at Kapelle-Ufer Street. Administrative style?

(I’m not pretending to know much about architecture. I just try to keep my eyes open …)

Depressingly dull glass boxes, or childish fantasies that are not amusing when made for adults. Can we blame the Bauhaus?

    • It’s interesting how the look of buildings car create different feelings. I found actually both of these refreshing. Is the latter some sort of twisted Bauhaus style?😉

Ihanaa tulevaisuususkoa menneisyyttä kieltämättä; tälläistä luovuutta ja fantasiaa ei Suomen sosiaalifasistisessa kulttuurissa tulla lähivuosisatoina hyväksymään.

    • Suomalaisista rakennuksista on tosiaankin vaikea löytää villiä kokeilevuutta. Johtuuko se sitten arkkitehdeistä, julkisivuviranomaisista vai yksinkertaisesti arkuudesta näyttää yksilölliseltä ja persoonalliselta?
