The Fiddle and the Tin Whistle

Irish folk music played in pub sessions is one of the happiest music in the world, and  The Merry Ploughboy is one of the famous music pubs in Dublin. I did not visit the pub, but was lucky to listen couple of their players during WebSummit food night last November. – Great music during a fine party.

Dermot Daly played the amplified fiddle. (I’m not sure if that was a fully electric or acoustic-electric fiddle, but due to the thousands of party guests, amplification was a must.)

Tom “The Silver Fox” Shanahan was mastering tin whistle (which was manufactured by Reyburn, I guess). It’s quite amazing that this simple looking instrument can create such lively music.
