High on the mountain, looking over the seaside town of Hvar, is the majestic Spanish Fortress, built during the 16th century against Turks with the proceeds of the sale of salt and the help of Spanish engineers.
The path climbing up the hill takes you past the gates to the old city and offers magnificent view over the town. Following the last rays of the the sun sinking in the Adriatic Sea can be best enjoyed from the fortress.
In my blog post is mainly pictures. Read here a great blog, if you like to know more about the history of the Spanish Fortress.
