Interiors of a former mental hospital

Lapinlahti mental hospital in Helsinki was the oldest in Finland and one of the oldest European psychiatric care institutions, now under renovation. It was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel and served as hospital from 1841 to 2008. Today it is getting a new live as home for arts, culture and wellbeing.

These pictures tells us something about the midway from the old hospital via e.g. movie shooting interior to the future cultural multipurpose environment.
